What's going on around town today.

  • The Warminster Parks & Recreation and Gilmore & Associates are hosting its annual fall Best Ball Scholarship Golf Outing at October 10 at 9 a.m. The cost is $110 per golfer ($425/foursome) with the proceeds going to summer camp scholarships.
  • Showers likely with temps in the high 50s today, according to the National Weather Service.
  • October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so be sure to check out all of Patch's coverage on the cause.
  • A spirited and leaderless protest in the Wall Street section of New York has entered its third week, helping to inspire a growing number of demonstrations united in their passion if not necessarily their reasons for hitting the streets, CNN reports. The hub of the movement, in Lower Manhattan, was abuzz with activity on Sunday as activists continued to vent their frustrations with everything from "corporate greed" to high gas prices to insufficient health insurance.
  • On this day, October 3, 1964, the first buffalo wings are made at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, N.Y.
