What's going on around town today.

  • Ivyland Boro is holding a community wide yard sale Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. Houses and neighborhoods throughour the town will have household items, jewelry, decorations and much more on display.
  • William Tennent High School is hosting a grand opening party today, starting at 3:30 and running to 9:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to tour the building and check out activity booths and watch the building dedication, featuring special guest Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick.
  • Sunny with a cooler high near 67 today, according to the National Weather Service.
  • The U.S. Supreme Court has delayed the scheduled execution on an inmate on death row in Texas amid questions about a psychologist who testified that blacks and Hispanics were more likely to commit future crimes, CNN reports. Duane Edward Buck already had eaten a final meal of fried chicken, fried fish, french fries, salad, jalapeno peppers and apples when news came of the court's decision on Thursday evening, Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Jason Clark told the news channel.
  • On this day, September 16, 1620, the Mayflower begins its journey to America.
