  • William Tennent's golf team hosts a match at Five Ponds Golf Course at 3 p.m. against Pennsbury High School. The girls varsity soccer team travels to Pennsbury for a 3:30 p.m. showdown.
  • A slight chance of showers after noon today with a high in the low 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
  • The standoff continues Monday between the House and the Senate over emergency funding, which is holding up a short-term spending measure to keep government running into the new fiscal year that begins this weekend, CNN reports. The measure includes additional money to fill the almost depleted emergency aid coffers of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Army Corps of Engineers following Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee, wildfires and tornadoes so far this year.
  • On this day, Septmber 26, 1960, the first televised presidential debate is aired, featuring John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon.
