WTHS Grand Opening, Building Dedication and Tailgate Extravaganza

Why Go: The entire Centennial community is invited to attend the grand opening and building dedication ceremony for the new William Tennent High School. Activites include: Building tours, Ribbon cutting, Dedication ceremony, Military Honor Guards, Athletic contests, A food court, Interactive games, Tailgate party, A parade into the stadium, Fitness challenges, Health screenings, Informational booths, Performance, Giveaways, Simulators

Why Go: Gilda’s Club Delaware Valley will be hosting the second annual Alex Boyes Memorial 5k Run/Walk at Warminster Community Park, with a vendor and entertainment portion following at our neighboring Warminster clubhouse.

Alex Boyes was a committed Gilda’s Club volunteer, and even completed his Eagle Scout project here. In the fall of 2009, at the age of 22, he died from cancer.

All funds raised from the event will stay locally to support Gilda’s Club Delaware Valley in its mission to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.

Sidewalk Sale/Craft Fair/Pet Rescue

Where/When: Downtown Hatboro. Sat. 10-3pm

Why Go: Downtown Hatboro will be bustling with fun and festivity at the 10th Annual Hatboro Sidewalk Sale, Craft Fair & Pet Rescue.

Live entertainment will add to the festive atmosphere and the FREE SHOPPERS TROLLEY will take shoppers from one end of town to the other.

On the front lawn of Hatboro Baptist Church, Pet Rescue groups will be on hand to answer questions about pet adoptions and a variety of vendors will offer pet-related products.

Community Computer & Electronics Scrap Recycling Event & Community Health and Wellness Expo

Where/When: , 221 S York Rd, Hatboro. Sat. 9-2pm

Why Go: In conjunction with the Hatboro Sidewalk Sale, Craft Fair & Pet Rescue the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and 611 Metals Recycling will host a Community Computer & Electronics Scrap Recycling Event. Proceeds from this event will help fund the Hatboro Holiday Parade.

Item Wanted: Computers, Monitors ($10 fee for CRT monitors),DVD players, Microwave Ovens, Modems, Fax Machines, Scrap Metals, Stereos, Ink/Toner,Cell Phones

Health & Wellness Expo - Free Health & Wellness Information, Fire Trucks/Fire Safety Smokehouse, Giveaways, Demonstrations, Prizes, Kid's Games, Fun for Everyone

Doylestown Oktoberfest

Where/When: Turk Park, Almshouse Rd. and Rt. 611, Doylestown. Fri. 5-11pm, Sat. 12-11pm, Sun. 12-8pm.

Why Go: Due to the weather the Festival was delayed in opening but you still have some time to take in the fun …Pages Aerial Thrill Show, Donnerts Equestrian Horse Show, Pages White Tiger Show, Petting Barnyard, Reithoffer Shows, Rides, Live Music and Great Food

Pricing: $6.00 per person (cash only), children 42 inches and under free, Admission does not include rides

Earth Day at Tamanend Park & International Coastal Clean-Up Day

Where/When: , 1255 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, and , 501 Churchville Ln, Southampton. Sat 10-1pm.

Why Go: Earth Day was postponed so it could be combined with the International Coastal Cleanup. Join the Friends of Tamanend and the Park & Rec staff to celebrate by contributing a few hours to help clean up and beautify the park the nature center and surrounding reservoir.
