Jefferson on the Creek Residents Evacuated

Residents of the Jefferson on the Creek apartments are being directed to William Tennent High School, where the Red Cross has set up a shelter.

Police are evacuating residents of the Jefferson on the Creek apartment complex due to the ongoing standoff with a gunman in one of the apartment buildings.

Those who need a place to go are being directed to William Tennent High School, where the Red Cross has set up a reception center.  

School district officials said they began welcoming people to the cafeteria of the high school around midnight. As of 1 a.m., approximately 25 people were at the high school.

In a statment released to the press, the Red Cross Said it is unclear just how many people are expected, but the reception center will remain open as long as necessary, providing snacks, drinks, and cots to people who need a warm, dry place to go.
