  • The William Tennent softball team hosts a 5 p.m. game against Harry Truman High School.
  • Cloudy today, with a high near 69, according to the National Weather Service.
  • Yemeni officials say a senior operative of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula wanted for his role in the USS Cole bombing was killed by an airstrike in Yemen on Sunday, CNN reports. Fahd al Quso, 37, was killed while riding in a vehicle in the Rafdh district in Shabwa province, according to the officials.
  • On this day, May 7, 1718, the city of New Orleans is founded by Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville.
