Nativity Deacon's Ordination Scheduled for Saturday

Rev. Daniel Dwyer is one of six Philadelphia Archdiocesan clergymen to be ordained by Archbishop Chaput this weekend.

A deacon who has been serving at is one of six men that will be ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput this weekend.

The ordination mass for Rev. Daniel Dwyer is scheduled for Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.

According to a release by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Rev. Dwyer attended Saint Gabriel Parish Elementary, Saint John Neumann High School and received his Bachelor of Arts from Cabrini College in Radnor. After earning his Master of Divinity degree at Saint Charles Seminary, Rev. Dwyer taught theology and religion for the next 15 years in Archdiocesan high schools. He resumed his studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in 2010.

Each of the newly ordained priests will be assigned to a parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish.
