Nov. 9: Warminster Tax Collector's Office Relocated
Here are five things you should know today.
- Warminster tax collector Barbara Loftus wants the public to know that her office has been changed. It is still located in the township administration building on 401 Gibson Ave., but instead of the front, residents have to enter the building at the side entrance in order to meet with her.
- Klinger Middle School and Log College Middle School students have been invited to participate in the “Gift of Giving XI” exhibition at the Education Gallery in the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. The opening reception is on Sunday, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. The artwork will continue to be on display during regular museum hours until December 16. This exhibit features a non-juried selection of two- and three-dimensional works of student art from both Klinger and Log Middle Schools. Following the exhibit, all works are gift-wrapped and delivered to Trinity Episcopal Church for the “Peace Meals” dinner, where they will be distributed to area residents who are affected by HIV/AIDS.

- U.S. District Judge Larry Burns sentenced Jared Loughner to serve the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole, CNN reports. The punishment includes seven consecutive life terms plus 140 years. He pleaded guilty to 19 charges in exchange for the life sentence to avoid facing the death penalty.
- On this day, November 9, 1967, the first issue of Rolling Stone Magazine is published.
