Tennent Choir Preparing Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser

Money raised by the March 17 event will go toward sending members of the William Tennent choral group to the Olympics in London.

The William Tennent Choir wants to see how well you know Bucks County. Vocal Director Tyrone Dinkins and the rest of the members of the choral group have organized Tennent Trek, a three-hour scavanger hunt scheduled for March 17.

The hunt will be executed using the SCVNGR smartphone app. Teams of two can register at on the morning of March 17, beginning at 9 a.m., $30 per team. At 10 a.m., the first clue will be texted to the players' phones, and the race is on to find the location, complete a challenge and get the next clue. The team that collects the most points could win some cash at the awards ceremony at the high school.

The scavenger hunt marks the first major fundraising event held by the William Tennent Choir as the members prepare for their trip to the in London in August. The Buzz in Bucks reports that the choir is halfway to its $170,000 goal. The bulk of the money raised so far has come from the parents and families. Dinkins tells Buzz in Bucks that he would like to see the rest come from donations in order to give the choir families a break.
