Tennent Grad Among Victims of Philly Building Collapse

Kimberly Finnegan had just started working at the Salvation Army at 22nd and Market when the neighboring building collapsed, killing her and five others and injuring 14.

One of the six people killed on Tuesday when a building collapsed in Philadelphia has been identified as 1996 William Tennent graduate Kimberly Finnegan, 36.

According to CBSPhilly.com, Finnegan had just started working at the Salvation Army thrift store on the corner of 22nd and Market when an adjacent four story building that was under demolition collapsed.

A friend told CBS that Finnegan, originally from Upper Southampton, was engaged to be married.

During a press conference, Mayor Michael Nutter said a wall from the collapsed building fell on top of the store, where Finnergan and other staff and customers were inside. Rescue workers pulled 14 people from the rubble and transported them to area hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the building collapse remains under investigation.
