View Fragments of 9/11 at University of Pennsylvania Exhibit

The exhibit features items excavated and recovered from Ground Zero.

Our town offers plenty of summer fun, but sometimes the lure of Philadelphia beckons—and our new Summer in the City feature can help guide you to the fun.

If you feel like venturing out a little farther from home, check here for a weekly suggestion of something fun or interesting to do in the City of Brotherly Love. Whether it's restaurant to try, a festival to attend or special museum exhibits, we'll feature something different every Thursday.

This weekend head to the University of Pennylvania's Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology to view a small exhibit featuring items excavated and recovered from Ground Zero.

Excavating Ground Zero: Fragments of 9/11 features 15 objects recovered at the site of the World Trade Center in New York City. Items include eyeglasses, a computer keyboard, glass from the Twin Towers and visitors badges. The exhibit also includes a Twin Towers memorial sculpture and image projects from the day of the attacks. And visitors can share their memories of September 11 on a wall, which will be a focal point of the exhibit.

Worried that spending an entire afternoon at the exhibit might be draining or too emotional? Stop by during the last hour of any day for a quick walk through and take advantage of the "pay-what-you-want" general admission.
