Warminster PBA and ShopRite Donate to Camp Out for Hunger

More than $4,000 in non-perishable food was collected by the Warminster Police Benevolent Association, in partnership with the ShopRite of Warminster.

Warminster Police Chief James Donnelly and members of the Warminster Police Benevolent Association made an early morning trek to XFinity Live in Philadelphia Monday morning to donate more than $4,000 in food to the Camp Out for Hunger hosted by WMMR's Preston and Steve Show.

"The Warminster PBA runs the car show on the runway in August each year," said police officer Nick D'Eletto. "Funds raised from that help us with doing goodwill events such as this, and other things within Warminster."

The food was collected in partnership with the Cowhey Family ShopRite of Warminster, packed up and delivered to the Camp Out for Hunger event hosted by XFinity Live on Pattison Ave. in Philadelphia.

This is the 16th year that the popular radio hosts Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison will live in an RV for one week and collect non-perishable food donations for Philabundance, benefitting local food pantries and shelters throughout the Philadelphia region. Previously held at the Metroplex Shopping Center in Plymouth Meeting, the Camp Out for Hunger has moved to XFinity Live in the Sports Complex.

Donations will be accepted from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Monday and Friday. Last year, the Camp Out for Hunger collected more than 300 tons of food and more than $100,000 in cash donations.
