The Good, The Bad and The Downright Ugly

I've decided from time to time to point out merchants who go above and beyond for the customers as well as ones who simply fail in customer service. Remember this is only my opinion.

THE GOOD

We all know right now more than ever good customer service weighs into our decision over which merchants get our hard earned money, especially with the price of almost EVERYTHING going up!  We want to know we are getting the best deal and we want quality.  Knowing that a company has excellent customer service, easy return policies, fair prices and care about the communities they serve have an impact on who we deal with.  I've decided from time to time to point out merchants who go above and beyond for the customers as well as ones who simply fail in customer service. Remember this is only my opinion.   You are welcome to add ones of your own in the comment section.  

I'd like to start off with one that is good!

Impressive customer service can be found at our very own located on Street Rd. 

I don't know any other department store that offers more coupons more often than them.  We all know when we get that catalog with the scratch off on the front we are so hoping for the ultimate 30% off coupon, and when we find it we plan what we can get at such a great price!  Yes, it is a wonderful marketing plan!  Yes, 30% off would lure even the most dedicated couch potato to move a bit quicker, but we still win if we know how to shop smart and only buy what is already on sale!
I simply love their return and exchange policy.  How many of you hang on to those receipts?  I know some of you have to be like me and have the good intention of keeping the receipt only to wait a few weeks to try the item on and realize we have no idea where we put the receipt for safe keeping.  Kohl's offers a hassle free return policy.  If you have your receipt your money will be refunded or credit returned to your credit card.  If you don't have the receipt you can receive store credit that we all know you will use almost immediately on something else!  Exchanges are simplified by going to the checkout or customer service section. 
Kohls associates are always happy!  I don't know how they do it.  Come on we all know not every customer can be friendly and cheerful to those employees but they never fail to greet you with a smile or ask you if you'd like to use your coupons.  It certainly makes dragging the kids to the store a little more bearable.
The lines on the big sale days!  Oh they can be long but have you noticed that they move rather quickly and someone is standing in the front to keep the line moving as fast as they can.  They make sure to plan ahead for those big sales with additional associates to serve all of us and get us where we need to go quickly!
Kohl's also cares deeply about our community!  Just yesterday I saw the hard working women of Kohl's volunteering their time at Hatboro Baseball's Little League Day and yes they did it with a smile!
In December of 2010 I had the pleasure of being assisted by 5 wonderful Kohl's associates helping me to collect, sort, transport and distribute much needed items to the families of The Salvation Army Family Residence in Philadelphia.  All 5 employees also spent their hard earned money sponsoring a lady of the shelter out for a nice lunch and showed them they were not forgotten:)

So my hat is off to the Kohl's managers of Warminster and certainly to all the associates who serve our community every day!  Your customer service is impeccable and your shiny attitudes keep us coming back for more!
