Edward "Spike" Kordelski, 91, William Tennent Security Guard

Kordelski was a Marine Corps. veteran who served as a staff sergeant at Parris Island.

The William Tennent High School community lost a familiar face over the weekend.

Edward "Spike" Kordelski, 91, of Hatboro passed away Friday. Kordelski worked as a security guard at the high school for 31 years.

A U.S. Marine Corps. and World War II veteran, Kordelski served as a staff sergeant at Parris Island.

The Centennial School District released the following statement regarding Korelski's passing:

"The administration, staff and students of the William Tennent High School will certainly miss his greetings in the morning on the way into the building or the nod goodbye at the end of the day.  Spike was a quiet man but touch many, many lives while employed at Centennial.  Our deepest sympathies go out to his family."

Relatives and friends may greet the family at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home, 529 N. York Road, Hatboro, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
