Mike Baxter Dies at 62; 33 Years of Service to Warminster Police

Michael T. Baxter died Friday, March 15 after a long battle with scleroderma.

Michael T. Baxter of Warminster, PA, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by loving family, after a long and courageous battle with scleroderma. He was 62.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Baxter was the son of Kathryn and the late Harry Baxter Sr. He was the beloved husband of forty years of Tricia (Erdlen) Baxter. Loving father of Monica (Jim Matthews), Michael (Jane), Kate (Jim) Meredith, Tom, Marybeth, Kevin, Joe and John Baxter. Brother of Peggy (Ed) Ripley, Harry, Fred (Judy) and Mary Carmona. 

Known as “Pappy” to his grandchildren Conor, Julia and Dylan Matthews, Madeleine, Michael, Darcy and Marcus Baxter, Anna, Mary Grace, Kara and Abby Meredith and Noelle Baxter. 

Mike retired with the rank of Sergeant from the Warminster Police Department after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish and the Knights of Columbus. 

He will be remembered for his appearance on Jeopardy, role as Santa Claus, gourmet meals and unwavering “support of older Pennsylvanians.” 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:00 in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 625 W. Street Rd., Warminster, PA. Friends will be received Thurs. evening 6:00-8:00 PM and Friday morning after 9:00 AM until time of the Mass in the church. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Nativity of Our Lord Church or the Scleroderma Foundation of the Delaware Valley, 385 Kings Hwy. North, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
