William J. Vinglas, Sr. [Obituary]

William J. Vinglas, Sr., 70, died at his Warminster home Friday.

William J. Vinglas, Sr. of Warminster PA died March 1, 2013 at his home. He was 70.

Mr. Vinglas was a graduate of Cresson Joint High School, Cresson, Pa. He retired as a Senior Chief in the Navy after 27 years. He then worked at Aydin as a contract administrator for 10 years then as Senior Customer Service Associate at Prudential until retiring in Oct 2010.

Bill was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Hatboro and was a member of many organizations that include N.E.R.A (the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association) where he was President and Co-founder of the League Island Chapter, Fleet Reserve, American Legion and memberships with many associations for the Naval ships he had formerly served on.

Bill was the beloved husband of Mary (Mulhern) Vinglas. Bill was born in Sankertown PA a son of Virginia (Bruce) Vinglas and the late John Vinglas.

In addtition to his wife, Bill is survived by two sons, Jim Horten (Jane) of Pensacola, FL and Bill Vinglas, Jr (Heather) of Washington Crossing PA, and three daughters, Colleen Sobotka of Ft Walton Beach, FL, Sandy Ellefson (Ross) of Elko, NV and Kathy Hetzel (Joe) of Hatboro, 16 grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren, a brother Tommy Vinglas (Donna) of Clearfield, PA and a sister, Claudia Stitko (Gary) of Gallitzin, PA. Bill was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and two brothers, Gary and Ricky Vinglas.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, 11 a.m. in St. John Bosco Church, 235 E. County Line Road, Hatboro. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cememtery, Chalfont.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 or St John Bosco Church Memorial, at the above address.
