Attempted Child Luring Reported at Jacksonville Bus Stop

Reports say that a middle-aged man approached a fourth grader at a bus stop on Jacksonville Road Monday morning.

A press release from the Centennial School District reports that an attempted child abduction allegedly took place Monday morning near the Station at Bucks County complex on Jacksonville Road.

According to reports, a dark-skinned man, age 40 to 50 years old with a goatee and driving a light blue minivan approached a fourth grader and asked if he needed a ride to school. The nine-year-old said no and that his bus was coming, and the man drove away.

Officials say that the boy made it to school safely and unharmed.

"Parents, please be vigilant and remind your children to exercise safety precautions when traveling to and from school," wrote Centennial Superintendent Dr. Joyce Mundy in a letter to parents. "Please advise your children when possible, to travel in pairs or small groups and report any incidents of this nature to the proper authorities immediately. We will continue to work with you to ensure the safety of your children."

Anybody with information regarding this alleged incident is asked to contact the Warminster Police Department at 215-672-1000.
