Dautcher Farm Market Broken Into Overnight

A window screen was ripped open and quarters and two vintage necklaces were taken from the Mearns Road farmer's market.

A post on Uncle Joe Dautcher's Farm Market's Facebook page stated that the roadside market located on Mearns Road had been broken into Wednesday night.

According to the post, someone ripped out the screen on the back window, climbed in and took quarters out of the cash drawer and two vintage squash blossom necklaces.

There is a cash reward for the necklaces' return and arrest of the thief.

The unfortunate incident will not stop the grand reopening and open house of the produce market. Owner Judy Dautcher had set up a bakery inside the 263 Marketplace, but the building's closure forced her to make room for her confections at the farmer's market located at 1270 Mearns Rd.

Customers are invited to check out the new bakery and enjoy samples of cookies, cakes, plus some homemade chili.
