Pair Sent to Prison Over Bucks Landing Stabbing Death

The two men made plea deals with the Bucks County District Attorney for the attack and killing of Tyrone Newman in June 2011.

The investigation of at Bucks Landing Apartments last year has come to a close with Monday's sentencing of the two people responsible for stabbing and killing the Warminster man, phillyburbs.com reports.

Laurie "Turtle" Wint, 33, pleaded guilty to third degree murder and will serve 12-1/2 to 25 years, and John Briggs pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit voluntary manslaugher, earning a seven to 14 year trip to state prison.

Earlier investigations by the police showed that Wint and Briggs tracked down Newman on July 24, 2011, to settle a payment Newman owed a man named "Mike" for a drug transaction. During a struggle, Newman slashed at Wint with a knife and ran to the apartment complex.

When they caught up to him, Wint stabbed Newman repeatedly while Briggs punched and held him down, investigators said.

Wint and Briggs for several weeks until police in New Jersey in August 2011. Wint is also suspected in the killing of a New Jersey man in June 2011.
