Pedestrian 'Busted Up' After Being Struck by Car

A middle-aged man was struck by a car on Street Road early Saturday morning.

A middle-aged man is lucky to be alive after being struck by a car Saturday morning along Street Road.

The man has several broken bones throughout his body and was described by Warminster Chief of Police Michael Murphy as being "pretty busted up." Despite the many broken bones, the hospital told police the injuries are "non-life threatening."

The man was crossing Street Road at 1:05 a.m. Saturday when a car struck him. The accident happened just past Valley Road, Murphy said.

The driver of the car stopped immediately and will not be facing charges, the chief said. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been involved.

Murphy said officers were not clear as to why the man walked into the eastbound lane of travel.

Officers are still determining whether the man will be cited for violating the township's jaywalking law, Murphy said.

The struck man was taken from the scene to Abington Memorial Hospital where he is recovering.

The man has no fixed address but is believed to be staying with a friend at Meadowbrook Condominiums, Murphy reported.
