Police ID Alleged Strip Club Gunman

A Warrington man is being held in prison after allegedly shooting two people at a Horsham strip club.

A 55-year-old Warrington man accused of opening fire and shooting two victims at Double Visions in Horsham Saturday night is being held in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Joseph Thiers, who Horsham Police said fled the scene following the 6:30 p.m. shooting on Saturday and is said to have led officers on a pursuit into Warrington Township before crashing in the 2900 block of Warwick Road, is being held on $2.5 million bail.  

Phil Catagnus III and Jason Catagnus were shot during the incident, according to police. The two were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police did not provide the condition of either victim.

According to ABC 6, the men were sons of the Double Visions manager. The alleged gunman was a disgruntled customer who had been thrown out of the club earlier in the week, according to an ABC 6 broadcast.

Police have not provided a possible motive for the shooting.

Thiers allegedly fired upon police prior to his apprehension, according to police. 

No officers were injured as a result of the alleged altercation.

The Horsham Township Police were assisted by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and surrounding police departments during the incident. 

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses are asked to call the Horsham Township Police Department at 215-643-8284.
