Police Seek Help Identifying Bank Fraud Suspect

The Warminster Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying a check fraud suspect that has hit banks in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

According to Sgt. Scott Selisker, the suspect attempted to defraud a Warminster bank in late June. The investigation led detectives to similar incidents that occurred in Bensalem and the larger tri-state area.

According to a release sent by the department, the suspect enters a car dealership and puts a $1,500 cash deposit on a vehicle. He returns the following day and indicates that he no longer wants the car. 

The dealership then issues a check, which the suspect duplicates and cashes at various banks and check cashing establishments. The name used to conduct this scheme is actually a stolen identity.  It is believed that the identification cards used are fraudulent.
