UPDATED: Propane Truck Overturned on Jacksonville Road

The driver of the car, Falls Township Police Chief William Wilcox, was sent to St. Mary Medical Center with head injuries.

A car accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Jacksonville and Bristol roads caused a propane delivery truck to overturn. Warminster police officers closed off access to northbound Jacksonville at the Bristol intersection for several hours during the cleanup and investigation.

The details of the crash are still under investigation. According to a statement released by the Warminster police department, Falls Township Police Chief William Wilcox was operating a department vehicle on eastbound Bristol Road when the propane delivery truck traveling northbound on Jacksonville struck it and then overturned. Wilcox drove off the road and into a flower bed on the northeast corner of the interection. He was taken to St. Mary Medical Center with head injuries and has been listed in satisfactory condition, according to the report.

The driver of the truck, Timothy Wolf of York, Pa., had minor injuries. Witnesses told officers that Wilcox had the green light when the accident occurred, according to the release.

The Warminster police department was assisted at the scene by Northampton Twp. Police, Ivyland Boro Police, The Richboro Fire Department and the public works departments of both Warminster and Northampton Townships.

At this time the investigation is ongoing and being handled by Warminster Police Highway Patrol Unit.
