Second Suspect Wanted for Bucks Landing Murder Under Arrest

John T. Briggs is in custody for the stabbing death of Tyrone Newman on July 24

The second of two men wanted in connection of the murder of Tyrone Newman was arrested Monday in Burlington, N.J.

According to the authorities, John T. Briggs, 24, surrendered himself to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office in Burlington. Briggs was arrested without incident and was charged by Burlington County Detectives with being a fugitive from justice and is being held without bail.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office will seek to extradite Briggs to Pennsylvania to face homicide charges in Bucks County. A court date has not been set.

Laurie Wint, 23, early Sunday morning by Camden County and New Jersey State Police and remains in their custody.

Newman was stabbed to death on July 24 at the Bucks Landing Apartments in Warminster Township Bucks County. On July 29 detectives with the Warminster Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office obtained arrest warrants for Briggs and Wint, charging them with criminal homicide.
