A vehicle suspected of being involved in a fatal hit and run in Northampton Monday morning was located at the Warminster SEPTA station hours after the incident.

Northampton officers had the silver minivan towed to the police station for an investigation. According to Northampton Police Chief Michael Clark, the owner of the van had not been located or notified as of 10:30 a.m. Monday. It is also unknown if the owner was the person behind the wheel at the time of the hit and run.

Chief Clark said that at approximately 6:30 a.m., a Bucks County woman in her mid-50s was struck at the 500 block of Jacksonville Road, near Traymore Manor. She was pronounced dead at the scene of "massive bodily injuries," said Clark. Some of her next of kin have been contacted, but the woman's identity has not yet been released.

Jacksonville between Sienna Dr. and Almshouse Road was closed for more than four hours as officers investigated the crash. There were no witnesses to the hit and run, Chief Clark said, but debris from the vehicle was used to issue an alert for surrounding police departments to be on the lookout for a silver vehicle with damage to its front.

Shortly after the alert, officers from the Warminster Police Department reported the sighting of a car matching the description parked at the train station.

This story will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
