Victim of Northampton Car Crash Identified

Cameron Smithwick, originally from Ivyland, was killed while traveling as a passenger with four other teens when the car crashed into a tree on Old Jacksonville Rd.

The Northampton Police Department has identified the young passenger who was killed Saturday afternoon when the car he was traveling in crashed into a tree on Old Jacksonville Rd.

Cameron Smithwick, 19, of Ivyland, died at the scene of the crash. The driver and three other passengers were transported to St. Mary's Medical Center by the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad and Warminster Volunteer Ambulance Squad. They are identified as:

  • Monroe Leonard Tanner IV, 18, from Ivyland
  • Louis Piotti, 17, from Holland
  • Matthew Slade, 18, from Holland
  • Daniel Harris, 17, from Holland

According to a report by CBS Philly, Smithwick was in the passenger seat when the silver Monte Carlo hit a utility pole, flipped and struck a tree. The three teens seated in the back, Piotti, Slade and Harris, attend Council Rock High School South.

The crash is under investigation by Officer Joseph Rosowski and anyone with any information regarding the crash is asked to contact the officer at 215-322-6111.
