Victim Trapped After Car Goes Into Pole

The woman was revived by good samaritans, according to witnesses.

Fire crews worked in earnest to rescue a woman who was trapped after her car went head-on into a utility pole late this morning.

According to witnesses, the woman was heading east on County Line Road, toward Newtown Road, when her vehicle drifted into the opposite lane of travel and struck a utility pole in front of the County Line Shopping Center.

"She was not speeding, she did not brake, she just went across the road into the pole," Warminster resident and witness Christine Newton said. "Luckily she didn't hit anyone else."

Newton and another Warminster woman, who did not wish to be identified, ran to aid the driver, who had no pulse when they got to her.

"Her lips were blue, so we started CPR," Newtown told Patch.

The women continued CPR until the driver of the vehicle, described as an adult female, regained a pulse.

Arriving authorities' efforts to extract the woman from her older model Toyota Camry began shortly after 11:15 a.m. It took rescue workers about 45 minutes to free the woman from the battered car.

The victim was taken by an advanced life support amublance to Abington Memorial Hospital. Her condition is not being released.

The Warminster Ambulance Squad, and Willow Grove Fire Company participated in the vehicle rescue.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
