Viewfinder: Warminster Fire Department Open House

The firehouse on Madison Ave. held demonstrations and allowed kids to climb into the trucks.

The Warminster Fire Department held an open house at its station on last night at 6:30 p.m. Young visitors had the chance to climb into one of the trucks and check out the equipment the firefighters use to enter smoke-filled homes and buildings.

Other activities included a firehose simulation, a stop, drop and roll mat and a mock steel door that firefighters used to demonstrate how they enter locked rooms with heavy doors. Outside, a section of the parking lot was roped off for a demonstration of how the firefighters extinguish a car fire.
