Warminster Fire Department Responds to Back-to-Back Blazes

Crews responded to a fire at the Street Road Industrial Park Tuesday night, then extinguished a kitchen fire at Bucks Landing less than two hours later.

A quiet day turned into a busy Tuesday night for the Warminster Fire Department as engines responded to two fires within two hours.

The first call came in a little after 6 p.m. when an office worker at the Warminster Corporate Center on Street Road saw smoke pouring in from a vent, according to Fire Chief Mitch Shapiro. It turned out to be an HVAC fire on the roof of Building C.

"Some insulation caught fire," said Shapiro. "By the time we got to it, it was only smoldering. It only took a few minutes to put it out."

The next call came in at approximately 7:30 p.m., this time at the Bucks Landing Apartment complex. According to Shapiro, a kitchen fire in a second floor unit caused the alarm. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.

No injuries were reported in either incident, and both locations suffered heavy smoke damage, Shapiro said.
