Warminster Man Charged in Baseball Bat Attack

A domestic dispute sent two people to Abington Memorial Hospital with head injuries, according to police.

A man allegedly attacked one Warminster resident with a baseball bat and pushed another to the ground hard enough to knock her unconscious, according to Warminster police.

The incident occurred in the speedway section of Warminster late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. One of the victims told police that Kevin McPhillips, 46, called and asked her to come to his house and talk. When she approached his house, McPhillips met her at the driveway and yelled obscenities at her, took her cell phone and pushed her down, causing her strike her head against the driveway.

When she got up, he pushed her down again and she hit her head against the ground a second time, losing consciousness, according to the arrest report. Personnel at Abington Memorial Hospital told police that the victim sustained a large head injury that required 10 stitches.

Police say that McPhillips also entered the backdoor of a home a few blocks away and attacked the homeowner with a baseball bat, striking him at least 12 times. The victim was also taken to Abington Memorial Hospital and treated for a brain contusion and a small fracture on his right hand.

McPhillips has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and related offenses. He was arraigned by Judge Dan Finello and has been confined to Bucks County prison until he can post 10 percent bond on $175,000 bail.
