New Officer Joins Warminster Police Department

Richard Gensler, a Northampton native and graduate from Council Rock South, was sworn in during the township's Board of Supervisors meeting last week.

The Warminster Police Department added a new officer to its ranks when Richard Gensler was sworn in during the Board of Supervisors meeting Thursday night.

"This is a great township with a really progressive police department," Gensler said. "I'm excited that I'm also going to be working so close to home."

Originally from the Holland section of Northampton Township, Gensler graduated from Council Rock South High School and received his degree in criminal justice from Westchester University.

According to the bio information prepared by Warminster Police Chief Michael Murphy, Gensler attended police academy in New Jersey and worked for the North Wildwood Police Department in 2010. Gensler then enrolled in the police academy at Montgomery County Community College, where he graduated as class valedictorian in 2012.
