Warminster Woman Arrested for DUI Three Times in Three Weeks

Melissa Logston, a 22-year old resident of Warminster Township, was arrested by the Upper Moreland Police Department three times in less than three weeks for DUI related violations. 

Officers observed Logston operating her Nissan Altima on March 24 in the rain without the windshield wipers turned on. According to UMPD Chief Thomas Nestel, she was stopped at Center and Summit and found to be intoxicated. When the police ran her through the system, it showed that Logston's license was suspended. 

"The Upper Moreland Police Department patrols every night looking for intoxicated drivers," said Nestel. "Rarely do we come in contact with a drunk driver who thinks that they are intoxicated. It is very difficult to assess for yourself whether you are drunk." 

UMPD encountered Logston again on March 30 at approximately 4 a.m. when her vehicle nearly crashed at Fitzwatertown and Moreland Roads. However, the intoxicated Logston was the passenger, not the driver. SUch a scenario would normally be fine, except for the fact that the driver was also unde the influence. Logston was arrested for permitting an intoxicated person to drive her car. 

The next traffic stop happened on April 11 at approximately 1:30 a.m., when she was observed driving a vehicle with one headlight in the area of Warminster and County Line roads. When she was stopped, she was once again found to be intoxicated and operating her car with a suspended license.
