Police said "Gale" asked the elderly woman if she knew who the bag belonged to. Inside the bag was a large amount of cash. The woman convinced the elderly victim that they could split the money if the bag's owner was not found.

According to police, the woman then convinced the elderly victim to withdraw $11,000 from her bank account. She offered to put the money in the trunk of the elderly woman’s car while she went to her bank to see about splitting the found money. The woman never returned, and when the elderly victim checked her trunk the $11,000 and handbag were not there.
