Young Boy Injured in Vehicle Incident
A young boy was hurt Friday evening in the parking lot of the Bucks Landing Apartment Complex.
A young male was injured just before 5 p.m. Friday evening in the upper parking lot at the busy after he struck a moving car, police said.
The "very young boy" suffered non-life threatening injuries and was rushed to , Sergeant John McKenna reported. The boy was released from the hospital late last night.
A police investigation revealed the boy, whose exact age McKenna was unsure of, was riding a small non-motorized scooter and darted between two parked vehicles, striking the side of a moving car that had just left a parking spot.

During the afterschool hours, the apartment complex's parking lots and surrounding grass-covered yard are often filled with school-aged children.
The driver of the car stopped and no citations are expected to be issued, according to the sergeant.

While Friday's incident appeared to be an accident in the purest form, it will likely not be a day the young boy soon forgets.
