EnergyWorks coming to Ivyland Day: Program can increase comfort, eliminate health and safety problems, and deliver real energy savings to homeowners
A presentation on EnergyWorks, a relatively new way to cut home energy costs, and a related veterans green jobs project in Ivyland, PA will be held for the First Annual Ivyland Day. This will be held at or near the intersection of Wilson and Pennsylvania Ave’s in Ivyland, PA from 10AM to 5 PM.

The EnergyWorks project of the regional Metropolitan Caucus seeks to lower energy costs in nearly 170,000 households in Bucks County. Funding for the EnergyWorks Loan Fund comes from a U.S. Department of Energy competitive Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
At the event, EnergyWorks will be partnering with We’ll be giving away or discounting the $150 EnergyWorks application fee to the first three people to sign up at this event.

When fully developed the Ivyland Veterans Green Jobs Project (IVGJP), working with EnergyWorks in Bucks County, could be a model for the entire state. This could create thousands of skilled jobs for veterans. These local jobs with qualified, certified homebuilders and contractors would keep that money in the local economies. The Patton Foundation is a proud sponsor of the IVGJP.
This project, centered in Ivyland, PA, seeks to cut energy waste through efficiency and conservation, using veterans for the skilled workforce. This could save the average homeowner up to 15% a year in energy costs and make significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in Bucks County. This will improve local health and the economy and get us closer to the elusive air quality attainment goals for 2015. This will also reduce our dependence on foreign oil and improve national security.
The veterans, drawn from the Veterans Green Jobs program at Bucks County Community College, MCCC, and similar training centers will get their apprenticeship in Ivyland retrofitting a 1903 Victorian home and 46,000 square feet of commercial space at the historic Hobensack’s Mill site.
