Nativity Blue Ribbon Celebrations Begin

The school, which received the national honor, is kicking off a weekend of celebrations.

The Catholic school, which teaches students from the age of three until eighth grade, was only one of a handful of schools in the nation to obtain the distinction. The school was selected by the by the Department of Education after meeting several criteria.

"This award really shows the dedication of the faculty, students and their families," State Representative Kathy Watson, herself a former educator, said.

Watson along with Rep. Benie O'Neill presented the school with a House citation.

The representatives were joined by school leaders and Warminster Board of Supervisors Chairman Frank Feinberg.

Earlier this week, school officials attended an award ceremony in Washington, D.C and received a blue ribbon that will be unveiled during a ceremony Sunday during noon mass.
