State Rep. O'Neill Faces Challenge from Munroe

Voters in the 29th district have to decide one of the few contested state represented races in Bucks County.

Nine-year Republican incumbent Bernie O'Neill faces a challenge by Democratic nominee Brian Munroe.

The candidates' wives stumped for their husbands Tuesday morning at Ann's Choice in Warminster. Each greeted voters as they entered the polling place at the Keystone Clubhouse and asked for their support. 

"Brian has a lot to give to his district," said Natalie Munroe. "He's been a public servant his whole life, from serving in the Navy, as a firefighter, EMT and a police officer."

Linda O'Neill felt confident that her husband would hold onto his seat at the ened of the day because his opponent went too negative and turned voters off.

"Bernie is a good, honest politician who has always been a strong supporter of public education," she said.

O'Neill was elected to the state assembly in 2002. He formerly served as a Warminster Township supervisor from 1998 to 2003. Munroe is a former member of the United States Navy and served as a police officer for 10 years in Radnor. Both candidates reside in Warminster.

The 29th district includes New Hope, Solebury, parts of Warminster, Warwick, Buckingham and Upper Southampton.
