Viewfinder: Primary Day
The gloomy weather and mostly uncontested races made for low turnout at the polls.
The polls are now closed and the results are coming in. The day's theme was mostly lack of voter turnout. Not a surprising outcome considering the rainy weather, lack of overall interest in local elections when they are not tied to national campaigns, and the fact that most candidates in the township and county races ran uncontested in their own parties. Hopefully, the polls will be a little more crowded come general election time on Nov. 8.
