What is the Tax Burden for Warminster Residents?

Interactive map has tax burdens for state, local and sales tax for Philadelphia and its suburbs.

Pew Trusts has released an interactive map that shows the tax burden for Philadelphia and it's suburbs for a hypothetical family of two adults and two children.

The chart shows what a family pays in property, income and sales taxes in each municipality studied in 2000 versus 2012.

According to Pew Trusts, the median household income for the entire region in 2000 was $47,500, which has increased to $60,000.

In Warminster, with a population of 32,682, residents who don't work in Philadelphia paid an average of 10.8 percent of their income in taxes (state, local, and sales tax) in 2012, compared to 8.4 percent in 2000.

Based on the hypothetical family, that's a difference of $1,152 between 2000 and 2012.

Looks like the people who pay less in taxes as a percent of income, are those with higher incomes. I think everyone pays about the same across the county. But if you make more money, the percent you pay in taxes will be less than someone with a smaller income. No real revelations in this study.
