New Parks & Rec Building Takes Shape

The finishing touches are being put on the new building in Warminster Community Park, getting ready for the Parks and Recreation Department to take occupancy in mid-May.

For the time being, Warminster's Parks and Recreation Department continues to operate out of the WREC on Little Lane.

Supervisors announced last week that the new building has been placed at Warminster Community Park and staff is working to install utilities and to rehab the interior.

Parks and Recreation Director Karen Whitney said workers were installing floors Monday, and when that job was finished the ceiling would be put in and the walls would be painted.

"We were hopeful to be in the new space by the end of the month, but as that date draws closer with all of the transferring of phone lines and equipment that still has to be done, we are not sure," she said.

Whitney said the move into the new facility should be complete by mid-May.
