Building Character One Scoop at a Time

Willow Dale teachers and staff worked the service window at Rita's to raise money for school programs.

A line of frozen treat fans wrapped around the parking lot at Thursday night for some tasty desserts dished out by special guest workers.

The teachers and staff from took turns manning the water ice from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in an effort to raise money for the "Character Counts" program. During those three hours, 15 percent of sales benefitted the school.

Franchise owner Dave Cummings estimated that the rush of customers snatched up at least 50 gallons of water ice and custard.
