Busy Week for Centennial School Board

The Centennial School Board has three committee meetings scheduled for this week.

Students may be out of school for the summer, but the Centennial School board will be hard at work this week.

There will be three school board committee meetings held over the course of the week in the boardroom at the Johnsville Administration Building in Warminster.

  • The board’s Finance Committee will meet Monday evening at to discuss, among other items the available options regarding heath insurance plans for the district’s employees. This meeting will involve a round-table discussion and members of the community are invited to participate. 
  • The Education Committee will meet Tuesday evening to discuss the consolidation of the district’s Parent Teacher Organizations. With the district consolidating its elementary schools over the next couple of years, the school PTO’s will need to follow suit. According to the meeting agenda, the guidelines for this process will be discussed at the meeting. 
  • The Operations Committee will meet Wednesday evening. A lengthy meeting agenda includes items such as: discussing the bids for the construction of the Region 2 elementary school, an update of the district’s ongoing construction projects, including a detailed explanation of proposed change orders, and an explanation of how the district plans to utilized the now closed Leary Elementary School Building. 

The meetings are all scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

As always, the district invites those who are unable to attend the meetings to watch the proceedings broadcast live on public access television or over the Internet via the district’s website.
