Centennial Education Foundation Selected to Receive PA Grant Awards

Foundation Receives Grants as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) for Innovative Educational Enrichment Programs.

The Centennial Education Foundation (CEF) announced it has received three grant awards totaling $34,500 as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Members of the CEF presented to the school board Tuesday night a check for $27,600 from those funds to benefit the school district's math enrichment program.

The funding was provided by grants from Hatboro Federal Savings for $30,000, $2,500 from Giant Food Stores and $2,000 from Fulton Bank. Businesses receive a tax credit for participating in the program, creating an opportunity for businesses to positively affect children as well as fulfill community support.

“We are thrilled to be the recipients of this grant funding and want to thank our EITC providers for their support,” said Robert J. Phillips, president of the CEF. “The Foundation has cooperatively met with district officials on the use of this valuable funding opportunity.”
