Klinger Adds a Little Spice to Music Lesson

Centennial's Spanish Department organized a special demonstration of Flamenco music for eighth graders and high school students Friday morning.

Eighth graders from Klinger and Log College and Spanish language students from William Tennent got a lively lesson in Flamenco dance and culture when Tres Compadres took the stage at Klinger Middle School Friday morning.

Dancer Inez Del Mar twisted, turned and stomped her feet to the melody from Chris Mood on guitar and Dave Sherick's rhythms as the students shouted, "Ole!"

The hour-long program was organized by the district's Spanish department as a fun and educational way to learn about the Flamenco culture. Tres Compadres is a local jazz-Spanish music fusion group that performs regularly in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, including frequent appearances in Doylestown.
