MBIT Instructor Finalist for National Teacher Contest

Christopher Tully can earn $10,000 for his classroom if he wins Good Magazine's Great American Teach-Off.

Good Magazine is searching for America's most innovative teacher, and one of the instructors at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology is one of the top ten finalists in the magazine's Great American Teach-Off. It's now up to the public to keep voting for Christopher Tully, MBIT's multimedia technology instructor, and help him win the grand prize of $10,000.

For Tully, $10,000 can go a long way toward improving his classroom at the MBIT. If he wins the contest, he will use the prize money to either enhance the school's television studio or procure more iPads for his students.

Tully was nominated for the contest by one of his colleagues at MBIT. It was then up to him to rally his students to create a series of videos covering various topics, including what makes him an innovative teacher and what advice he would give to other teachers.

"I'm really grateful for the job the kids have done with the videos," says Tully. "They are a big reason why I've made it this far into the contest."

One video is released every Monday by Good Magazine, and the public can vote for their favorites. The two lowest vote-getters are eliminated from the contest until there is one left standing when the contest ends on April 9. This week's video explains how Tully makes a difference in his students' lives.
