Viewfinder: Family Night at Willow Dale

Hundreds of families gathered at the elementary school to celebrate the work of Dr. Seuss.

Children and parents stepped into the gymnasium Wednesday night and entered a world filled with gluppity-glup, truffula trees and whisper-ma-phones.

The school's teachers and staff organized the Family Fun night to honor the life and work of Dr. Seuss as part of the weeklong Read Across America celebration.

Stations were set up throughout the school that featured activities inspired by The Lorax, the upcoming film adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic. Kids had a chance to stick their hands in a pool of gluppity glup, plant truffula tree seeds or take some paper cups and string to create whisper-ma-phones and talk to one another.
