Surgery on Colin Thompson's ankle will keep the former Wood tight end off the field for two months.
The college career for former star tight end Colin Thompson did not exactly start off on the right foot.
The top prospect will stay on the sidelines at the University of Florida for two months as he recovers from surgery, the Associated Press reports. Doctors will insert a screw into his right foot to help with an ankle inury Thompson suffered in the spring.
Gators coach Will Muschamp told the AP that the injury is "unfortunate and disappointing." Thompson is expected to make a big impact for the #23 ranked team.
