Ann's Choice Volunteers Give a Hand to Teen Mothers

Residents of the retirement community gathered and donated crucial baby items to Child Home and Community.

The following was provided by Ann's Choice Retirement Community:

Residents of Ann’s Choice held a “Baby Shower” of sorts to benefit the organization Child Home and Community, a Doylestown-based United Way agency that helps serve teen mothers in Bucks and Montgomery counties by working to ensure healthy births, enhance family stability and promote self-sufficiency.

The retirement community’s residents donated more than a dozen boxes full of baby clothes, including shirts, pants, bibs and blankets, which they then sorted and boxed up themselves.

“Our residents are always there to answer the call to help those in the community who need assistance in any way possible,” said Susan Abtouche, Ann’s Choice director of philanthropy. “The baby shower was certainly a unique project, but an exciting one that had an intergenerational feel to it, providing some residents with memories of the times they shopped for baby clothing for their own children and grandchildren. The entire community applauds these volunteers and donors for their efforts in assisting young women throughout the region.”
