Church Plans to Collect Food for Needy

A local church is looking to collect food to help provide a family with food for Thanksgiving.

Nearly 50 million people in the United States worry about where their next meal will come from, according to data from the The U.S. Department of Agriculture.

This Thanksgiving season, Our Lady of Good Council parish is trying to help local families that are in need.

The church's youth program will be collecting food as part of its .

The organizers have requested donations of turkeys, vegetables, canned goods, stuffing, and all the fixings needed for a holiday dinner.

If you are donating a turkey, the volunteers ask that you double bag it.

Those who wish to donate can drop their contribution off in the parking lot of the Sunday between noon and 1 p.m.
