Groups Urge GOP Lawmakers to Solve Looming Fiscal Cliff

Local groups held rallies Monday outside Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick's office in Middletown and in Bristol Borough.

Events focusing on urging lawmakers to extent middle-class tax breaks that are set to end if a solution to avert the fiscal cliff is not found by the end of the year were held in lower Bucks County on Monday. The crowds gathered outside the building that houses Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick's office in Middletown and later on the streets of Bristol Borough. Outside the congressman's office, a group of more than 50 gathered to speak about how decisions by Republican lawmakers have impacted their lives. Later in the evening, many of the same people met at the Christmas tree on Mill Street in the borough to attend a "holiday-themed vigil," according to the group that organized the rally, Pa.
